John Hitchcox - YOO
Picture:

Described as the 'Prada of the property industry' by UK's national newspaper - The Independent, John Hitchcox is considered one of the most influential property developers in Europe. Credited with pioneering loft living in London when he co-founded the Manhattan Loft Corporation (MLC), he now heads the only global property design and development company YOO.

In April 1999, Hitchcox joined forces with celebrated French designer Philippe Starck to embark on possibly his most ambitious project yet, YOO. Bringing together a team of leaders in their fields, including YOO's Head of Design, Mark Davison, they set out to create extraordinary modern living spaces.

YOO's flagship development is the conversion of the former Telephone Exchange in London's Maida Vale, an outstanding example of 1930's classic urban architecture, that has been re-styled around four Starck-inspired palettes, nature; culture; minimal; and classic.

In March 2004, Hitchcox launched YOO at Work, a template refurbishing commercial buildings, pioneering strata selling in conjunction with the London & Regional Property Fund.

In December 2004, YOO also launched Jade Jagger for YOO, in partnership with Jade Jagger and her design partner and architect Tom Bartlett.

YOO now operates in over 15 cities worldwide and boasts a development portfolio of over 8,000 apartments, with a value of over 5 billion US dollars.

John Hitchcox resides in London; he is a member of The Princes Youth Business Trust, a keen supporter of Amnesty International and enjoys playing music, sailing, yoga, tennis and spending time with his children.
